Our Work

As one of the most trusted organizations working to reduce poverty in southern Haiti, Hope for Haiti is focused on providing support and partnership to the Haitian people every single day.

Hope for Haiti’s mission is driven by the fundamental belief that there is always a pathway to a better life in Haiti despite the numerous challenges that exist. To accomplish our mission, we implement an integrated model for development that has been proven to reduce poverty by working with community leaders in rural areas in four key program areas: education, healthcare, access to clean water, and economic development.

Our mission is simple: To improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly women and children.

Our long-term vision for Haiti is clear:

Joyful children;
Healthy families;
Thriving communities; and
The resources to make it so.

We continuously monitor and evaluate our work

By measuring inputs, outputs, outcomes, and the overall impact we make as an organization, our team is able to assess our progress each month and throughout the year. We use several monitoring and evaluation tools, including the Poverty Probability Index to measure long-term program results. In our most recent 5-year study, we observed a 20% decrease in the probability of absolute poverty in our partner communities from baseline to year 5.
