Hope for Haiti Appoints New Member to its Board of Directors

Naples, Florida, March 21, 2019- Hope for Haiti announced today that its Board of Directors has unanimously elected Dr. Philip T. Regala as a new member of the Board, effective March 7, 2019.

Dr. Regala is an orthopedic surgeon who has been practicing in Naples since 1997.  He specializes in general orthopedics with an interest in sports medicine and shoulder surgery.  He graduated with honors from the Medical College of Wisconsin with a degree in molecular biology.  He interned at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis and then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Miami.

Dr. Regala volunteers his time and resources both locally and internationally. He has served as the team physician for both Gulf Coast High School and Golden Gate High School and is an active member of The Rotary Club of Naples.   He went on medical missions to Mexico and the Philippines while he was a medical student, and has continued this passion for service through Rotary, volunteering as a surgeon in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. Dr. Regala has traveled to Haiti nine times on orthopedic surgery and training missions.

Dr. Regala resides in Naples Florida with his wife, Sue, and they have four children. His hobbies include tennis, water skiing, fishing, travel, playing guitar, and yoga.

The Hope for Haiti Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from the medical, business, academic, legal and philanthropic community from both Haiti and the USA. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide counsel and guidance on Hope for Haiti’s programs, governance, operations and strategic direction.
