May Spotlight: Help Us Replant Haiti

May Spotlight: Help Us Replant Haiti!

Faradia SenatOn May 1, Hope for Haiti celebrated Haitian Agriculture and Labor Day with students and families at Tête Source school. Read below to hear from Faradia Sénat, a student at the school, on the impact Hope for Haiti has made in her community with YOUR support.
While attending the Agriculture & Labor Day celebration at her school, Faradia and other students were taught about the importance of reforestation, techniques and best practices for raising a garden, and everyone’s responsibility to contribute to the development of their community. Faradia told us that reforestation is important to her because “if the country works on reforestation, we will have more shade and water, and we will have much more fruit to eat.” She’s especially grateful for the School Garden and School Lunch Programs at the school, because “through the lunch program I can expect a good meal, and most of the time it’s my only meal for the day.”

Join us as we raise $5,000 this month to support students like Faradia, her family, and the entire community. With your support, we can continue the cultivation of our two school gardens at Tête Source and Ravine Sable so that they can be a source of nutrition, education, and sustainability for generations to come. Just $50 will cover the costs of compost and seedling bags for one month in a school garden!

Re-Birth in The Cherry Tree Project

In the years following the devastating effects of the earthquake that struck Haiti eight years ago, Hope for Haiti has invested in people and projects with a sustainable vision to catalyze positive social impact in the Greater South of Haiti. As we recognize Haiti’s Agriculture and Labor day, we celebrate the work being done to ensure Haiti’s land and her people are cared for. With just one idea, and dedication, sustainable change can be born. Click here to read more.
