Thank you for your continued support of our programs in rural southern Haiti. Read on to see our latest updates and how YOU help make a difference!
“Prevention is an essential element of a population’s health, reducing illness, disability, and death. Our program is inspired by the saying, ‘Prevention is better than a cure.’ We strongly believe in improving health through health education and awareness, as it’s often easier to prevent an ailment than to cure one.
During school days, Hope for Haiti’s Public Health program works with its network of Community Health Workers (CHWs) to empower students to prioritize health and health education early, benefitting themselves and their families.
During the summer break, our team works with adults to host similar educational sessions in community spaces. This August, 6,154 people participated in awareness sessions on various health topics.”
“This week, the Education team will meet with school principals from 24 communities to sign the Memorandum of Understanding, acknowledging their schools’ adherence to Hope for Haiti’s child-friendly education and classroom standards. Next, Education team members will assess the primary needs of each school and distribute materials.
I will personally oversee the progress of the repair and renovation work at the schools undergoing updates before the beginning of the school year. Our team will have more updates to share soon!”
