A Family’s Fresh Start in Ravine Sable

When the 2021 earthquake hit southern Haiti, Clonise Badin and Jean Willy Petit-Bois lost the home they had finished building just three months earlier. For years after, they and their two daughters lived in a single room, and rain poured through the rusted roof. On September 17, Clonise’s family was one of seven families in Ravine Sable to get the keys to a new, safe home, built with our partners at the Man Dodo Humanitarian Foundation and Stichting HomePlan.

One Year After Hurricane Melissa

One year ago, Hurricane Melissa brought severe flooding and landslides to southern Haiti, damaging homes, clinics, schools, and crops across our partner communities. Because medications and supplies were already in place before hurricane season, our team was ready to respond right away.

Since the storm, your support has made possible approximately 69,000 patient consultations, 492 mobile clinics, WASH training for 2,975 people, seeds and plants for 200 farming families, and 10 new homes for families who lost theirs. Hope is alive and well in southern Haiti.

Looking Toward Giving Season

DID YOU KNOW?*

Under the 2026 tax laws, donors claiming the standard deduction can directly deduct cash donations up to $1,000 (single filers) or $2,000 (married filing jointly) to public charities like Hope for Haiti. Meanwhile, taxpayers who itemize are subject to a new 0.5% AGI floor on total charitable contributions, so please consult your tax advisor to optimize your personal giving strategy.

Last Chance to Double Your Impact for Students!

There are only a few days left to meet our goal! Thanks to a generous $10,000 matching gift from longtime supporter Tim Savage, every gift to our education program is being doubled through October 30, until we hit $20,000 for student scholarships!

With your support, we provided 42 college scholarships to students last year (70% of which were provided to female students). With your help, we can provide 50 this year! While the match continues, a gift of $500 turns into $1,000 and can provide a full-year scholarship.
