What does Hope for Haiti's annual gala fundraise for? How will proceeds be utilized?
Proceeds from Hope for Haiti’s annual gala support programming across our four core program areas: Education; Healthcare; Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH); and Economic Development. With your support, Hope for Haiti is continuing to meet urgent needs in southern Haiti while investing in long-term, community-led solutions.
How will the funds raised at the gala impact Hope for Haiti's partner communities?
Hope for Haiti partners with 24 communities across the Sud Department, ranging from the city of Les Cayes to extremely rural communities without paved roads. Our program teams collaborate with community leaders to identify the populations’ areas of greatest need and work to implement sustainable solutions. Our relationship with each partner community varies due to their unique needs. Our past and ongoing community partnerships have included: constructing (or reconstructing) child-friendly school buildings, providing public health education, building new homes for families who lost theirs during the 2021 earthquake, conducting mobile healthcare clinics to improve access to medication and wound care, distributing in-home water filtration systems to prevent waterborne illnesses, and much more.
The funds raised during the annual gala help fund these vital projects and fill gaps in any grant funding received.
Is my gala ticket tax-deductible?
$250 of each $500 ticket to the gala is tax-deductible. Any donations made during the gala are fully tax-deductible.
Hope for Haiti is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. EIN 59-3564329. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. Once you submit your gift online you will receive an automatic acknowledgement on the screen and delivered to the email address you provided when submitting your gift. Sometimes, the receipt can be found in your Spam or Promotions folder. Please check there first, and if you still do not see it, please contact James Declerus at James@hopeforhaiti.com
Can I make a donation over the phone or by mail?
Yes, you can. Please contact our team at (239) 434-7183, Monday through Friday from 9:00AM – 5:00PM EST to make a gift over the phone. Check or cash donations can be mailed to Dept. #0286, P.O. Box 413026, Naples, FL 34101.
Can I make a gift through my will or stock transfer?
Yes, you can.
