Florida Weekly- Ho! Ho! Hope for Haiti effort results in 100,000 meals

More than 200 volunteers transformed the cafeteria of North Naples Middle School into a holiday party for two hours one day earlier this month with a goal of packing 75,000 Meals of Hope bound for Haiti. Hope for Haiti’s Next Generation board works with Steve Popper of Meals of Hope to organize the annual effort and this year exceeded the goal by 25,000 meals.
They also raised more than $10,000 to help cover the cost of shipping the meals to the impoverished Caribbean country.

Hope for Haiti Next Generation board members Melissa Hedberg and Nicole McGinnis co-chaired the event. Students and families of Gulf Coast High School stepped up as premier sponsor for the second year.
