Hope for Haiti staff members in Les Cayes, Haiti, have reported significant damage to their homes from Hurricane Matthew’s severe wind, torrential rain and resulting flooding.
Mark Hindley, COO of the Naples-based nonprofit, said at press time Tuesday, just a few hours after the eye of the storm had passed southern Haiti, that he and others “remain in constant contact with key leaders and partners, assessing damage and formulating our response strategy. We are actively working with local and international relief organizations to position medicine, medical supplies and relief aid for deployment as soon as conditions permit.”
