When six-year-old Donalcia began gasping for air, her parents feared the worst. What started as a simple cough had turned into a terrifying struggle to breathe. As small-plot farmers, they couldn’t afford care at the nearest clinic—and in Haiti, families who can’t pay up front are often turned away, even in an emergency.
But because of generous donors like you, Hope for Haiti’s clinic was there. Our pediatrician, Dr. Luxy, saw Donalcia immediately, free of charge. Recognizing the danger Donalcia was in, she rushed her to the hospital for urgent treatment. The cost of Donalcia’s hospital care was fully covered by Hope for Haiti’s referral program. She was treated for life-threatening tuberculosis, and today she’s back home: healthy, laughing, and full of life.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Hope for Haiti is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. EIN 59-3564329. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. Once you submit your gift online you will receive an automatic acknowledgement on the screen and delivered to the email address you provided when submitting your gift. Sometimes, the receipt can be found in your Spam or Promotions folder. Please check there first, and if you still do not see it, please contact James Declerus at james@hopeforhaiti.com
Can I make a donation over the phone or by mail?
