STAMFORD, Conn., Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — A team of Team Rubicon United Kingdom disaster response experts deployed to Les Cayes, Haiti over the weekend to assist partner Hope for Haiti. The situation is dire, “three out of every five houses were destroyed,” noted volunteer Mike Stewart, who led the initial rapid needs assessment. Team Rubicon UK, supported by Team Rubicon Global and partner countries, committed to a minimum three-week operation with a team of twelve military veterans and first responders with the mission of clearing transport routes, managing debris, and repairing damaged homes and schools at Hope for Haiti partner sites. In coordination with Hope for Haiti, they will work closely with Government and Non-profit organization partners in Port-au-Prince and assist in re-establishing access to those communities isolated from receiving aid.
