The Hour- Norwalk family sends relief to hurricane-ravaged Haitians

NORWALK — A day after Hurricane Matthew slammed the Caribbean island of Haiti, a charitable organization founded by a Norwalk family assessed the damage and worked to get relief supplies to those injured and displaced by the powerful Category 4 storm.
“Our primary concern at this moment is for the safety of our staff and residents in southern Haiti,” said Mark Hindley, Hope for Haiti’s chief operating officer. “We remain in constant contact with key leaders and partners, assessing damage and formulating our response strategy. We are actively working with local and international relief organizations to position medicine, medical supplies and relief aid for deployment as soon as conditions permit.”
