Transparency Matters: Hope for Haiti’s Commitment to Accountability

Dear Hope for Haiti Family,

Each April, in honor of US Tax Day, we send out an annual email that includes links to our 990 tax filings, audited financial statements, and ratings from third-party organizations like Charity Navigatorand GuideStar. We believe that these resources provide our supporters with an in-depth look at our financial performance, including how we use donations and how we measure the impact of our programs. Your generosity has allowed us to provide vital resources and partnership to communities in southern Haiti, and we could not do this work without you and your belief in our mission and our systems of transparency and accountability.

Trust and accountability are critical when it comes to charitable giving. That is why we are committed to maintaining the highest level of transparency and accountability in our financial practices. We take our responsibility to our donors seriously and want to assure you that your support is making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

Our fifth annual Hike for Haiti Challenge is underway! We kicked off this year’s challenge with a generous 1:1 match sponsorship from Building and Land Technology, doubling the value of every donation made up to $5,000. In just a few days, that match was met! We now have a $12,000 1:1 match active – so your impact is still doubled. Help us reach our goal of registering 2,400 hikers by registering today.

Our full team in Haiti will be hiking the mountain in Marre a Coiffe on Sunday, 4/23, with children and community members from schools in the surrounding area, as well as Hope for Haiti partners. We invite you to join us in getting active in your community on the same day in solidarity! We will be announcing some special opportunities to win participation prizes later this week.
