Moms Club Launched in Les Cayes
Our team launched the Hope for Haiti Moms Club last week for the mothers in our malnutrition program. Its objective is to provide them with tools to better manage the health of their children. The club will meet every 15 days and cover topics such as nutrition, hygiene, child development, and more. The program is organized by the Nutrition, WASH, and vaccination team.
For the club’s first meeting, the Nutrition team talked about the importance of breastfeeding for infant health as part of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7).
New VSLA Groups Starting in Tête L’étang
Wilner Saint-Preux (Hope for Haiti Economy Program Coordinator) hosted a community meeting in Tête L’étang recently to lay the groundwork for two new VSLA (village savings and loans association) groups of women who are parents of local schoolchildren.
These groups are part of the 12 additional VSLAs our Economic Development team will launch this fiscal year to help individuals in rural communities save funds and support one another. Support Economic Development Today
