Help Us Support Families in Haiti

Dear Friend of Hope for Haiti,

Over the past two weeks, Hope for Haiti and our team working in southern Haiti have been focused on planning for the worst possible outcomes caused by the most recent wave of political and civil unrest.

The reality facing many Haitians today is grim: gangs control 80% of Port-au-Prince, acute food insecurity affects over four million people, and the collapse of the government has severely compromised healthcare, education, security, human rights, and access to basic needs across the country.

Unfortunately, in the weeks and months ahead, we anticipate that the situation in Haiti is going to get much worse. In the face of such adversity, Hope for Haiti remains committed to providing development and humanitarian assistance to children, families, and communities directly and indirectly impacted by this most recent crisis.

Despite the current conditions in Port-au-Prince, our organization remains fully operational. Last week, Hope for Haiti’s doctors and nurses provided medical consultations to 2,269 patients at our healthcare facility and at mobile clinics, and our education and economic development teams continued to find innovative ways to support schools and rural communities. Our logistics team also successfully collaborated with partners to transport life-saving medication and supplies donated by cmmb, MAP International, and Americares to our office in Les Cayes, bypassing the dangers of Port-au-Prince (pictured below).

As the situation in Haiti deteriorates, we anticipate an even greater need for our assistance in the weeks and months ahead. To address this, our team has developed a comprehensive short- and long-term plan to provide humanitarian and development support to children, parents, and grandparents impacted by Haiti’s current crisis. This plan, detailing the strategies and initiatives to be carried out by our team of 150 Haitian professionals on the ground, is available for your review on our website here.

Your support is critical in enabling us to carry out this plan and continue our vital work in Haiti. Please consider donating today to support our efforts.

Thank you for your unwavering support during these challenging times.

In solidarity,

Skyler Badenoch
